Concept
The "Joys Of..." concept gives you a platform from which to tell your stories to your peers without fear of losing anonymity. While ultimately a site meant for your amusement, the "Joys Of..." can also be used to publicize legitimate concerns about a particular person, agency, employer or situation.
Setup / Privacy Policy
We do not log IPs, keep name-lists or anything else that could identify you. All logs on my webserver are turned off. We do use Google Analytics, which performs some tracking functions, but only for behavioral analysis (meaning I see what people look at so I can give them more of what they like). Google says this in their Terms of Service for using Analytics:
7. PRIVACY . You will not (and will not allow any third party to) use the Service to track or collect personally identifiable information of Internet users, nor will You (or will You allow any third party to) associate any data gathered from Your website(s) (or such third parties' website(s)) with any personally identifying information from any source as part of Your use (or such third parties' use) of the Service. You will have and abide by an appropriate privacy policy and will comply with all applicable laws relating to the collection of information from visitors to Your websites. You must post a privacy policy and that policy must provide notice of your use of a cookie that collects anonymous traffic data.
So there. You're safe. Having said that... I'm not going to stick my neck out for you. So if you're posting troop movements on my Military Service blog, I'm going to delete that information.
