The translation industry has its good points but here we just discuss the bad ones.
We experience incompetent sales people, basketcase enginerds, difficult translators, fried DTPers, lazy managers, uninformed clients and of course psycho PMs.

We are working on a website localization for a new client. I asked them if there are any string length restrictions to consider. They answered: yes, the translated file should not exceed 64 kb... To give people an idea... all the text, HTML code, formatting instructions, metadata etc.etc. on the main page of the site isn't even 64kb...
